In the short four years they’ve been together, the five-piece alternative rock and pop group The Preatures have been causing a stir down under and across the globe. Originating in Sydney, Australia, “The Preachers” formed between high school friends Thomas Champion and Jack Moffitt playing “bad Rolling Stones covers” and solidified after adding Isabella Manfredi, Gideon Benson and Luke Davison in 2010. Following a creative name change, The Preatures signed with Mercury Records and released their debut EP Shaking Hands in 2012.
Since their 2012 single Take a Card was featured on Australia’s Triple J Unearthed talent search, The Preatures have been charting with each new release. Their 2013 sophomore EP Is This How You Feel? saw considerable success, especially with the EP’s single of the same name. Is This How You Feel won the $50,000 prize for the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition and was voted 9th in the prestigious Triple J Hottest 100.
In 2014 The Preatures have taken the next step, releasing their first full length album, Blue Planet Eyes. You can catch The Preatures on October 10th from 1-1:40 at the Austin Ventures Stage at ACL.
