Toronto six-piece The Strumbellas slams driving indie rock against lighthearted alt-country to create what has been dubbed “pop folkgrass.” Since forming in 2008, The Strumbellas have released one EP and two full-lengths, all met with critical acclaim. Their debut full-length My Father and the Hunter was nominated for a Juno Award in 2013 and earlier this year We Still Move on Dance Floors won a Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year.
Now The Strumbellas have embarked on a tour of the United States, spreading their foot-stomping country energy across Texas and the West Coast before returning to Canada. You can catch The Strumbellas’ next performance on Thursday, October 16th at 10PM at The Saxon Pub, or stream them right here at KUTX!
