Tish Hinojosa’s story is one of resilience and renewal. Her eagerness to be back making music in Austin is evident in glimpses of her Southwest-inspired return West, out June 15th. Her country/folk singer-songwriter sensibilities are backed by wandering guitar licks and a piano/accordion duo so in the pocket one would never guess she’d taken nearly a decade off from music. Fresh off a string of shows around town, Hinojosa and her band stopped by Studio 1A to remind us of the beauty in mission churches, Tuscon, Arizona, and breathe new life into a Mexican standard.
