Vetiver 4.27.16

San Francisco’s Vetiver popped up alongside other Bay Area folky forest creatures like Joanna Newsom and Devendra Banhart (Banhart even contributed to Vetiver’s first two albums, and Vetiver’s leader Andy Cabic co-wrote Banhart’s break-out song “At the Hop”). Nonetheless, over the years Vetiver has slowly left the primordial woodlands of their early sound and begun to wander into novel territories. On their latest album, Complete Strangers, Cabic’s voice sleepwalks through krautrock dance floors, breezy pop beaches, and rolling country backroads. Their new eclecticism fits them well, check it out at the in their Studio 1A session at the bottom of the page.
