Goat: “I Sing In Silence”

Goat is a Swedish band that plays “world music” in the most literal sense. The group’s sound is nearly unclassifiable, drawing from African blues, American psychedelia, Middle Eastern folk, and more. Goat’s third album, Requiem, dials down some of the past psych-rock explorations in favor of an acoustic, pastoral sound. “I Sing In Silence” builds itself on the kind of dancing rhythms that Bombino and Tinariwen have brought to Western ears the past few years. Guitars and flute trade melodies like old friends, pirouetting around the band’s campfire positivity.

“I Sing In Silence” appears on Requiem, out now via Sub Pop.
