Jess Williamson: “Goodbye to All That” [KUTX Live at ACL Fest 2026]

Michael Minasi

Texas native Jess Williamson, also known for her work in Plains with Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield, attended UT and came up in Austin’s music scene before moving to Los Angeles. Inspired by Joan Didion’s essay of the same name, “Goodbye to All That” began as Williamson’s farewell to L.A.—until writing it helped her realize she wasn’t ready to leave. Still splitting her time between L.A. and Marfa, Jess joined KUTX backstage at Austin City Limits Musical Festival to perform the song from her new album, A Mile South of Heaven, out October 9, 2026, on New West Records.

This Thursday, Oct. 8 she plays Continental Club at 10:00 pm with a Waterloo Records in-store performance and record signing at 5:30 pm Friday, Oct. 9.
