People Flavor: “Shake Well”

People Flavor are fresh slabs on the time-worn pavement of the L.A. music scene, with frontman and chief songwriter Fernando Andrade filling his ranks with close confidants and old school friends. Blending a body built on jazz chords with a dance-punk personality, the four-piece are forging their own path that sounds like an extension of the City of Flowers and Sunshine, but the melancholy lyrics are etched with experience that only comes from living the city’s rabid lifestyle.

“Shake Well” is the group’s debut single with Dangerbird Records, and it sounds a bit like the the Killers and the Strokes kissed under the love spell of new wave. In fact, resisting the urge to listen to Hot Fuss or Is This It? afterwards is futile. When they say “shake well,” they’re talking about your hips.

“Shake Well” is available now, via Dangerbird Records.
