Saintseneca has a way of crafting these circular melodies that seem to tumble out of their songs. That’s thanks to the the band’s four-part harmonies, which root the music in folk but give it a jolt of energy. The group got its start on the Columbus, OH punk circuit, playing DIY shows alongside much louder bands. Saintseneca’s largely acoustic songs don’t suffer in comparison. They cut through the noise with precision. Such Things, the band’s third album, is a bit more electric, like on the standout track “Sleeper Hold.” Saintseneca provided a gleaming, lively take on the song in our Studio 1A last week.
