Since debuting in 2006, the Black Angels have sought to be more than just a band. The Austinites turn their shows into psychedelic, multi-media experiences, and over the years they’ve added a record label (Reverberation Appreciation Society) and a music festival (Austin Psych Fest, now Levitation) under the Black Angels’ umbrella.
They’re just as world-conquering in their music, which flirts with apocalyptic heaviness while still providing a killer hook.
