Charles Bradley at KUTX 4.29.14

The “Screaming Eagle of Soul” Charles Bradley stopped by Studio 1A along with his “Extraordinaires” for a special performance this week. He has a show tonight at Stubbs and just released a new album April 2. His albums include “Victim of Love” and “No Time for Dreaming.”

Listen to his music and take a funk-inspired trip back in time to the soul music of the ’60s and ’70s. Bradley, inspired by James Brown after seeing him perform live at the Apollo Theater, even worked as a James Brown impersonator named Black Velvet, which is how he was discovered.

He’s also the subject of a documentary called “Soul of America,” which debuted at SXSW Film this year. Check their session in Studio 1A RIGHT HERE!
