Wistful, sensitive, and with a touch of nostalgia – Eleanor Friedberger has built a strong solo career that speaks to her roots as an artist. Raised in a musical household in Oak Park IL, Eleanor started the band The Fiery Furnaces with her brother Matthew Friedberger in the early 2000’s. The band came to popularity after the release of their album “The Blueberry Boat” with music that was quirky and deconstructed. The band went on hiatus after 2011 after which Eleanor started her solo career.

While The Fiery Furnaces had a special strangeness to their sound, Eleanor’s solo music is Folk inspired and Classic Rock rooted with elements of her avant-garde alternative past integrated in. Eleanor released her fourth solo album, “Rebound,” May 4th to the critical acclaim of Pitchfork, The Guardian, and many other publications. She played in Austin at 3TEN ACL Live this Wednesday as part of her world tour. You can buy/listen to “Rebound” here.
