Some people seem like they are destined for Austin. Rebecca Loebe is one of those people. Her music and her personality ooze the introspective, laid-back charm Austin is known for. Songs like “Forever Young Forever” and “Lies” dive straight into accounts of love remembered and love lost, with Rebecca’s beautiful, lilting voice teasing out every ounce of emotion. And, in true outlaw country fashion, her new record, Blink, grew partly out of a brush with the IRS. While ultimately not as dramatic or costly as some other well-known encounters with the IRS, the experience provided Rebecca with inspiration to finish her 4th full-length album.
