Austin based nonprofit Song Rise Arts is connecting established songwriters with young musicians through their Young Artist Program. The program provides low-income and underserved youth with free songwriting classes and mentorship with professional musicians. A showcase on June 5th at 7pm at the Cactus Café will feature both the students’ original songs and music from mentors in the program, including Austin-based musicians Erin Ivey, Seela, Jai Malano and Kelley McRae.
