This year marks the 20 year anniversary Spoon‘s first EP, Nefarious. And two decades later, 2014 has been a big year for the Austin-based superstars. The band released their eighth studio album, They Want My Soul in August, to much critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. Comprised of Britt Daniel, Jim Eno, Rob Pope, Eric Harvey and Alex Fischel, the group has expanded their sound slowly and surely, creating a new sonic space of well-timed, meticulously crafted tracks that rise and fall like Daniel’s strained voice over the grinding acoustic guitars and synthetic drum kits. Now, fresh off the Honda stage after week one of ACL, they will stop by Studio 1A to play a few tunes.
