Singer-songwriter Steve Forbert has a lot to celebrate on the 40th anniversary of his landmark album Jackrabbit Slim. The lead single off of the album, “Romeo’s Tune” reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and throughout his career, his songs have been recorded by artists such as Rosanne Cash, Keith Urban, and Marty Stuart. The Americana star even has a tribute album, with 21 songs covered by 21 artists: An American Troubadour: The Songs of Steve Forbert. So how is he celebrating his 40 years worth of achievements? His band is touring to perform Jackrabbit Slim in its entirety, while offering a special edition vinyl of the landmark record.

The legendary singer-songwriter gave KUTX an exclusive performance in Studio 1A ahead of his show at the Cactus Cafe. Listen to the live performance below!
