A stalwart of the Austin music scene since their inception in 2003, What Made Milwaukee Famous have pushed the boundaries of genre with a sound that evolves with each subsequent record. Touted for their strong musicianship and instantly addictive hooks, WWMF have played mammoth festivals such as Austin City Limts and Lollapalooza and shared the stage with the likes of Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, and more. 15 years after the release of their debut album, Trying to Never Catch Up, the band is reuniting original members Drew Patrizi, John Houston Farmer, and Michael Kingcaid with second-generation members Jeremy Bruch and Jason Davis for a string of shows and a reissue celebrating the anniversary.
What Made Milwaukee Famous stopped by Studio 1A on September 11 ahead of their reunion shows in Houston (Sept. 12 at The Continental Club) and Austin (Sept. 13 at The Continental Club, Sept. 14 at Antone’s). Watch and listen to the live performance below.
