White Denim has established themselves as staples in the Austin music scene. They just got back in town, hot off a short tour around the Lone Star State supporting last year’s release, In Person. We welcome the veterans back into Studio 1A as they prepare to play at the annual Hi How Are You Day concert on January 22. The show celebrates the life and work of Austin’s own Daniel Johnston while spreading awareness and open conversation around mental health. Listen to the band cover Johnston’s “I Have Lost My Mind” and Hi How Are You Project co-founder Tom Gimbel discuss the history and future of the non-profit. He and co-founder Courtney Blanton figured “Hi, How Are You” to be the perfect initiator of conversation about mental illness. This year’s event includes a lineup of Cage the Elephant, Dan Luke and the Raid, Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, and many more.

Hi How Are You Day takes place at the Moody Theatre. The event can also be livestreamed beginning at 7:30 pm CST.
