Austin’s Zenith Quintet describes themselves as an “electro-acoustic” group, which sounds like an oxymoron when you think about it. But it makes total sense when describing Zenith Quintet. The group is all about bringing things together, even the band is made up of members from two of Austin’s favorite and most creative chamber ensembles: saxophonists Rami El-Farrah, Sunil Gadgil, Michael Hertel, and Spencer Nielsen come from the Bel Cuore Quartet while pianist Carla McElhaney hails from Revel Classical Band. Together, the five of them create some incredible music.
The Zenith Quintet will be performing at After Hours Concerts’ “Spring Fling” at Springdale Farms on Saturday the 23rd. You can also catch them on KUTX RIGHT HERE. Be sure to check them out!
