New Fresh City: Cool New Spring Vibes

Four Fresh Tracks from Austin Artists

For the past couple of years, KUTX host Aaron “Fresh” Knight has kept a running playlist of some of the best new releases from Central Texas hip hop and R&B artists called “New Fresh City.” There is so much good stuff on there we can’t share it all, so here are four of his favorites from the past few months. We’ll be back throughout the year to share more from the playlist but you can always follow along with the info below.

Find the New Fresh City playlist at the bottom of this post and be sure to catch Fresh on-air every Saturday morning 10a-2p and Saturday night 10p-1a on The Breaks

Moody Bank$: “Cool W Me

Former KUTX Artist of the Month Moody Bank$ has had a steady string of releases. Her latest, Cool W Me, is a laid-back ballad. No word if Ms. Bank$ is building towards an album release, but as long as she keeps the cool bops coming, we’ll all be pleased.

TEDDYTHELEGACY: “Go!

I’ve said he’s a top five songwriter in the city, and TEDDYTHELEGACY continues to prove me right. His recent single, Go!, kicks off with an Isley Brothers sample of Choosy Lover, and goes into a bass-heavy uptempo beat, while Teddy floats across the track effortlessly.

Whookilledkenny: “Thankful”

Kenny is nervous about releasing one of his most personal songs to date, Thankful. Heavy bass rings below a catchy hook, while Kenny expresses how thankful he is for his journey in music and life overall.
