April 11, 1953 – The Hank Williams’ classic “Your Cheatin’ Heart” started a six-week run at No. 1 on the Billboard country chart. He was inspired to write the song while describing his first wife as a “cheatin’ heart” to his soon-to-be second wife, who then jotted down the lyrics as they drove from Nashville to Shreveport.
