April 20, 1971 – Five friends at San Rafael HS in California coined the term “420” as a euphemism for smoking pot since 4:20 was their designated time to meet by the Louis Pasteur statue on campus to puff. Fans of the Grateful Dead and High Times Magazine helped spread the phrase and here we are, 55 years later, doing a musical celebration.
