January 28, 1941 – King Tubby was born in Kingston, Jamaica. The influential sound engineer, mixing engineer and key producer of ska, rocksteady and reggae, influenced the development of dub music in the 60s and 70s and is often cited as the inventor of the concept of the remix that later became ubiquitous in dance and electronic music production.
