September 22, 1985 – The first Farm Aid concert was held in Champaign, Illinois 40 years ago on Monday. The show, organized by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp, raised over $9 million for U.S. farmers and featured a star-studded line-up that included Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, Merle and Waylon and George and many more.
