What We Know (and You Want to Know) about Austin Kiddie Limits
Sound on Sound Fest has joined forces with KUTX’s Bill Childs, he’s the host of the nationally syndicated program Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child) to bring, what else? A kid’s stage to the inaugural Sound on Sound Festival. Only limited information has been announced, but the terrific line-up includes Thor & Friends, Hey Lolly Brass Band, and Koo Koo Kangaroo. The Sound on Sound Family Stage also boasts that there will be 0 drum circles, but don’t forget! There’s a castle. Kids 9 and under get into Sound on Sound for free, and yes, that includes riding the shuttle.
This year, Austin City Limits Festival is giving the event’s family-friendly Austin Kiddie Limits a make-over. Starting this year, the Austin Kiddie Limits area will be moved to a shadier location closer to the festival’s perimeter providing a better space for parents to let the kids dance, play, and just be kids. The area will have its own festival entrance, a lounge area for parents, all-natural snow cones, more games, and a private tent for changing diapers, nursing, and pumping. Austin Kiddie Limits will also stay active an extra 3 hours each day, shutting down production at 7 affording families the opportunity to head to ACL Fest later in the day and stick around for some of the festival’s larger acts. And remember, kids under 10 get into ACL for free. (Austin 360)
