You’ve made it to Friday during SXSW. Well done, grasshopper. But take heed – this weekend has no shortage of very cool shows for your enjoyment, so busy times ahead. The Austin Music Minute presents these suggestions for your Friday night escapades:
-This one is going to be crazy packed, so get there early. The 4AD Revue at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, includes SOHN, The Lemon Twigs, Future Islands and more on the outdoor stage, starting at 7 p.m.-ish.
-The Communion Presents showcase at St. David’s Historic Sanctuary, 301 E. 8th, includes sets by Agnes Obel and Maggie Rogers. Music starts at 8 p.m.
-The Ditto Music Showcase at The Main II, 603 Red River, includes local artist Mobley on the bill with AJ Tracey from the UK. Get there by 8 p.m.
–Penny Loafer’s official showcase at TenOak Bourbon House, 409 Colorado, kicks off at 8 p.m., featuring Otis the Destroyer, Darkbird, Scott Collins and more.
-The 2nd Annual Fly By Butterfly show at The Butterfly Bar, 2307 Manor Rd., features Star Parks, Name Sayers, Small Houses (Michigan), VedeTT (Angers, France) and more, starting early at 4 p.m.
