In just a few years, through her international concert appearances and her award-winning Naïve recordings, 29 year-old Lise de la Salle has established a reputation as one of today’s most exciting young artists and as a musician of uncommon sensibility and maturity. She made her London Symphony Orchestra debut with Fabio Luisi, and in 2016 returned to the orchestra with Antonio Pappano. Luisi, who invited her to become the first Artist-in-Residence of the Zurich Opera in 2014, has also frequently featured de la Salle with the Vienna Symphony. She has played across the US including performances with Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Lise came into Studio 1A prior to her first ever performance with the Austin Symphony Orchestra. She will be performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 1 as part of a showcase of three great Russian composers. Alexander Glazunov’s Carnaval Overture and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony will also be performed for the concert. “The Mighty Russians, Part III” will be opening this weekend with shows Friday and Saturday at the Long Center for the Performing Arts at 8PM.
