Cotton Mather

Austin band Cotton Mather can’t say they’ve ever claimed too much of the spotlight, but their 1997 album Kontiki blew up in a way that no one expected. The indie rock record was an enormous hit in the UK, and Noel Gallagher of Oasis has claimed it to be one of his favorites. The band anticlimactically died out in 2003, but their mark had been made. In 2012, Cotton Mather got back together to release a deluxe edition of Kontiki. After some touring in support of the rerelease, the group hit the studio again to record a single, “I’ll Be Gone.” A new album is due out later this year.

Cotton Mather stopped by Studio 1A with their friend Michael Fracasso and played a live set on KUTX. Check it out here!
