My KUTX: The Weary Boys

The Weary Boys started in Austin in 2000, mixing bluegrass and country and playing both originals and plenty of covers. The band was a common sight around town and toured ceaselessly across the country, so much so that it burned them out. The Weary Boys hung up its collective boots in 2007, but the group is reuniting for a pair of shows at the Continental Club on November 20 and 21. Mario Matteoli and Darren Hoff–both singers and guitarists in the band–are the guest DJs this week on My KUTX, spinning songs that inspired the band and telling tales from the road (their story about meeting Dr. Ralph Stanley is incredible).
