When we at KUTX catch wind of a local musician moving out of Central Texas for greener pastures, it’s a bittersweet revelation; a part of us always wishes they’d’ve stayed. But on the other hand, when it comes to actors and comedians, the Austin-Los Angeles pipeline is pretty much a compulsory path to push those kinds of careers. You just gotta go ahead and do it.
So when 7th-generation Texan and native Austinite Sierra Tothero was back for the winter break at the top of 2026, we were more than happy to see her stop by her childhood favorite radio station. While Sierra was here, she shared some hometown heavyweights, semi-recent favorites, and personal connections – delivered with the charm, poise, and humor we’ve come to expect from Tothero’s standup and acting.
