Halloween’s always been a haven for playful paranormality, costumes of all kinds, and a lighter look at the macabre. But of course, real life can get much scarier than anything you see during spooky season. Because of that, although we linked up with Belgian outfit The Haunted Youth back in March for SXSW, their candor about emotional hardships and the music that’s helped get over those hurdles felt too poignant to pass up for Halloween. Whether you’re spending Halloween crushing candy corn, hitting the rave, or just keeping to yourself, you’ll be in good company with Joachim Liebens, Tom Stokx, and their genre-spanning playlist of heavy hitters.
