This is one of those shows that your humble Austin Music Minute maven loses her mind over because, by golly, it rules. It’s not just one, not two, not three, but four performances to shout about from the rooftops, all featured tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal St. Get there nice and early, because each of these sets are worth checking out:
– Starting out the night is a man who ain’t afraid to mix it up – country, folk and punk – and shows no mercy, Robert Allan Caldwell. His set begins at 6 p.m.
– Holy smokes. It’s one of my favorite band o’ string-pluckers, The Austin Steamers, charging full steam ahead at 8 p.m.
– Hell hath no fury like a man who runs out of beer. It’s a country/blues/Americana hurricane with dynamic duo Mayeux and Broussard, playing at 10 p.m.
– Always loved that feller down at the end of the bar. I tip my hat to one of the best storytellers around, Leo Rondeau, going on stage at midnight. Take it and break it, baby.
Excellent, each and every one. The whiskey shall flow. Recommended.
