El Tule has always kept a steady pace shaping their music and cultivating their fan base since their 2005 debut. They’ve gotten crowds on their feet at a number of festivals and several tours across the country, proving over and over that el sonido is not simply the sound of one culture – it transcends all barriers.
The band teamed up with the recently-formed independent Latin music label Hecho In Austin Records for the release of their fourth album, but it would be some time before the album was ready. It took two years of recording, working, reworking, focus, patience and a desire for just the right style to complete Quatro, but it’s finally here, and ready to share more dance grooves blending Latin funk, salsa, cumbia, and psychedelic chicha.
Join El Tule for their Cuatro album release party tomorrow night at One 2 One, 1509 S. Lamar, Ste. 600. The bill includes Como Las Movies, Organizacion Kumbiabera, and spins by DJ’s Canoso and Vanessa La Bestia. KUTX’s Horizontes host with the most Michael Crockett will be there for the festivities.
You’ve got to move, baby. Recommended.
