The Lafayette music scene is probably best known for the annual cajun and world music focused Festival International, not the reverb laden indie rock coming from Brass Bed. But one listen of their new record, In The Yellow Leaf, and the laid back vibes of Southern Louisiana come through loud and clear. Even when the subject matter turns a bit darker on songs like “Figure It Out”, singer Christiaan Mader’s light, breezy vocals give everything a lighthearted dreamlike quality. Float along with Brass Bed and their session from Studio 1A or catch them at The Historic Scoot Inn on 4/21.
