Beth Chrisman residency at Hole In the Wall starts tonight, with Cast Iron Shoes, Common Law Cousins, and Jenny Carson.
‘This past Monday (June 1) marked the birthday of the late great bluegrass pioneer, multi-instrumentalist and activist, Hazel Dickens. You could say it was a perfect start to the week for an Austin-based artist who emulates that very spirit and talent, Beth Chrisman. A multi-instrumentalist herself and member of several bands (Lost Patterns, The Carper Family, High Plains Jamboree), Chrisman champions her fellow musicians with an undying support and is driven by a passionate knowledge of folk and bluegrass unequalled by most, along a great reverence for artists like Dickens who paved the way.
Chrisman kicks off a solo residency, Wednesdays with Missy Beth, tonight at Hole In the Wall. She’s joined by Lauren Gurgiolo (The Dialtones) this evening, with special guests Cast Iron Shoes, Jenny Carson, and Common Law Cousins. The music starts at 9 p.m.
