It looks like one magnificent soiree at the Blanton Museum of Art this weekend. The museum is turning 50, and that means a big celebration is in order.
The Blanton’s 50 Fest takes place today throughout the museum’s two-building complex and outdoor plaza. The event will feature a number of art activities for kids and adults alike, exhibition tours throughout the day, storytelling in English and Spanish, and of course, plenty of live music, featuring performances by funk-and-soul outfit T Bird and The Breaks, and the madcap musical adventures of the Minor Mishap Marching Band.
The party starts at noon today and lasts until midnight. It’s free and open to all ages. A good time for all! Recommended.
