All righty, seasoned festival-goers and overwhelmed novices. No matter where you are on the spectrum, you may know this drill by now. This weekend and the following weekend, your friendly neighborhood Austin Music Minute will offer you a few 2018 ACL Fest recommendations, as well as some very cool picks from festival alternatives off the beaten path.
Today’s Music Minute includes a heads-up about a couple of official ACL Fest Late Night shows happening tonight: Australian band Gang of Youths share a bill with Austin-based band Annabelle Chairlegs at Antone’s, 305 E. 5th St.; and ARIZONA and slenderbodies play an official Late Night show at the Mohawk, 912 Red River.
Then, to give you a head start, here are a few performance picks for ACL Fest earlier tomorrow: RF Shannon (featured on today’s AMM, 11:15 a.m. BMI Stage), Cuco (12:45 p.m. HomeAway Stage), Golden Dawn Arkestra (3:45 p.m. Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage), David Byrne (3:45 p.m., American Express Stage), Jungle (4:45 p.m. Barton Springs Stage), The National (5:45 p.m. American Express Stage), and Kahlid (5:45 p.m. Honda Stage).
