Maia Ciambriello and Sasha Goldberg bring you the lyrically entrancing Sugar For Bugs.
Long after the festivals wrap up, the music continues 24/7 in our fair city. And for tonight, the AMM recommends this irresistible LA-based (by way of New Orleans) folk-pop duo.
Life-long buds Maia Ciambriello and Sasha Goldberg both studied music at Loyola University before continuing their creative collab in LA. It was their TikTok videos that quickly drew attention to their unique melodic and visual repertoire, leading to The Army The Navy’s debut release Fruit For Flies last year. Following that harmoniously brilliant, darkly sweet escapade is this year’s delicious intrigue, Sugar For Bugs, as thought-provoking as it is whimsical. Soak in today’s featured track, “40%”: “Say my name / Say it again / I wanna hear every consonant / I’m greedy / Although it feels like a million pieces / on a million wheels…”
Time to stir things up even more. The Army The Navy brings their Gentle Hellraiser tour to Austin tonight at Empire Control Room. Doors at 7 p.m., featuring NYC-based songwriter Aggie Miller opening the show.
