All Psyched Up

Throughout the remainder of this week, the Austin Music Minute will offer some recommended artists to check out at Levitation 2015, kicking off this Friday at Carson Creek Ranch, 9507 Sherman Rd. This is the festival’s eighth year, and its first year in the U.S. as Levitation (formerly known as Austin Psych Fest before taking on the title of its French counterpart). Every year, the three-day celebration brings an impressive mix of touring and local artists covering a wide range of psych music, or music influenced/inspired by psychedelia.

Today’s AMM included a smattering of picks like Tame Impala (featured on today’s AMM), Spiritualized, The Flaming Lips, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Austin band and AMM fave Hundred Visions, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger and a much-anticipated reunion of The 13th Floor Elevators. Visit the Levitation website for a complete schedule and directions to Carson Creek Ranch.
