Today’s AMM spotlights an official festival showcase presented by Austin nonprofit DAWA’s Vision 8291 program, UNITY, happening tonight, Tue. March 12, at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater, 7 p.m. to midnight.
DAWA founder and Creative Director Chaka Malone hosts performances by Dallas band Luna Luna (“Golden” from Flower Moon is featured on today’s AMM), hip-hop artists Tony22 and Jahleel Fareal, Austin-based vocal duo US, Spaceflight Records artist Nemegata, songwriter/vocalist Maya Sampleton, and Puerto Rican multi-dimensional artist Stephy Lee.
And a showcase off the beaten path, Vinyl Beauty Bar at 2400 E. Cesar Chavez hosts Tunnel Vision Presents, going on now ’til midnight, featuring Slovakian artist Karin Ann, Toronto artpunk band Luge, Austin psych-punk outfit Geranium Drive, Montreal synth-pop/post-punk artist Alix Fernz, and many more. DJs Brother Levi, Dead Flowers and Rodeo Void keep the spins going all throughout.
