AMM SXSW: Tuesday Showcases

Here we go! Another round of SXSW recommendations from your Austin Music Minute maven for an action-packed Tuesday.

Surly Fest 3, presented by Austin band Surly Gates (featured on today’s AMM), starts this afternoon at 3 p.m. and continues through tonight at Stay Gold, 1910 E. Cesar Chavez. The showcase kicks off with Brooklyn band Honduras, followed by Mean Jean and the Klay Family Band (Charleston, SC), The Avocados, The Blind Suns (Angers, France), Jonas Wilson, Altamesa, a solo set by Prom Queen (Seattle), Jack Carter & The Armory (Greensboro, NC), The Diamond Center, Surly Gates, Coattails, and wrapping up with MODRAG.

Nine Mile Records and Touring presents the first of their 10th Anniversary SX showcases, tonight at 8 p.m. in The Gibson Lounge at Maggie Mae’s, 323 E. 6th St. Featuring sets by The Nightowls, Uncle Lucius, Patrick Sweany, Carson McHone, and Ben Ballinger.

-France Rocks Austin, presented by the French Bureau Export, features their French Tech Showcase at 8 p.m. tonight Trinity Hall, 401 E. 6th St. AMM fave Hooka Hey starts the show, followed by Alice on the Roof, Joon Moon, Talisco, Marina Kaye, and Fakear.

-Local artists Little Brave and Ali Holder have an early acoustic performance at 8:30 p.m. tonight at In.Gredients, 2610 Manor Rd.
