AMV Fest 2016

Last night, the Austin Music Video Festival kicked off its second season with a fabulous bang, which included a round of “Lady Power” music videos from powerhouse local artists like Sailor Poon, Slooom, and Francine Thirteen, and the first official Texas theatrical screening of Beyoncé‘s hour-long video album “Lemonade.” Not a bad start to this lively event, and it’s only the beginning!

The AMV Fest continues tonight through Saturday at a variety of venues around town, with an impressive selection of video retrospectives of The Octopus Project, Arcade Fire, and Mother Falcon; Solstice Presents, Merge Records and Sound on Sound Fest video presentations; a Latinx video showcase presented by Cine Las Americas; a selection of the weirdest “WTF” music videos; panel discussions; interactive videos and virtual reality; live music (of course); and it all culminates with the AMV Fest Awards Saturday night.

Check the AMV Fest website for the complete schedule and venue locations. So much to see this year. Check it out!
