Angers Day In Austin

Three years ago, Angers, France officially became Austin’s sister city, thanks to a visit to SXSW in 2012. A group of Angevins were in town to experience the opportunities of the Live Music Capital, and through their artistic and musical discoveries, the Austin Angers Creative was born. It’s a collective of musicians, artists, chefs, producers and like-minds from both cities exchanging ideas, events and opportunities year round.

Today marks Angers Day, a celebration of this partnership at five venues in East Austin, and certainly includes plenty of live music. Tonight, catch performances by Paris natives Paul Hazan and Lou Rebecca, and a set by Angers band Cherry Plum (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute), beginning at 9 p.m. at Stay Gold, 1910 E. Cesar Chavez. Also tonight at Justine’s Brasserie, 4710 E. 5th St., you can see swing and jazz outfit Continental Graffiti, starting at 10 p.m.

You can visit the official Angers Day website for the full day’s schedule and venue locations.

Célébrer la vie avec la musique. All are welcome. Very recommended.
