Art Disaster No. 16

Twice a year, the bi-annual Art Disaster music showcase usually emerges as a shining beacon from impending insanity, whether it be SXSW or, as is the case with Art Disaster No. 16, just before ACL Fest takes over Zilker Park with mammoth performances to hundreds of thousands of festival-goers. So, before the chaos ensues, it’s a good idea to start out with something homegrown and pretty damned awesome.

Founded by multi-media producer Daniel Perlaky, the creative director of City On Fire and founder of the Indierect Records label, Art Disaster highlights local and touring artists from different genres, with a focus on under-the-radar bands in the local scene.

Make plans to check it all out. By far, an Austin Music Minute favorite. No. 16 is happening tonight at two venues, Holy Mountain at 611 E. 7th, and neighboring Red 7 at 617 E. 7th St. Doors open at 8 p.m. Get there early because both rooms will fill up rather quickly.

Holy Mountain stageDriver Friendly, The Black and White Years, Politics, Good Field and badass all-female DJ master force Totally Consensual will spin tunes throughout the night.

Red 7 stage: Mighty Mountain, Night Drive, GOBI, Looshuss, Kahleel, Magna Carda, Multi-Tracker with DJ Charlie, and the mighty DJ Apollo Zeitgeist will keep you moving nonstop in a heavenly house bliss.

Do it to it. Highly recommended.
