Back Down Home

Some would say it’s all in the strings, and they’re not wrong. But country-folk/bluegrass master Tony Kamel has the vocals to match. The frontman of Grammy-nominated Wood and Wire is also a standout solo artist, with an album like Back Down Home bringing the Texas Gulf Coast vibes the Houston-born songwriter knows so well.

The AMM recently got word that Kamel is headed back into the studio next week to start work on his next record. But first, two big shows are coming up: Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24 at The Continental Club on S. Congress Ave. Friday’s show features a set by Folk Family Revival, and Saturday’s show includes performances by Texas String Assembly, and folk artist and multi-instrumentalist Beth Chrisman. The music kicks off at 10 p.m. Friday night, and 9 p.m. Saturday.
