Bouldin Revisited

Tracks from Bouldin (2007), Wiretree‘s first album, were an absolute must for your humble Austin Music Minute host’s former Friday late night show back in the day on KUT 90.5, before KUTX came into being. “Travelin’ On,” “Feel Me,” and most especially “Secret Law,” were the top picks. Songwriter Kevin Peroni began Wiretree as a solo project and had just released the album, and it was already creating a buzz. This was (still is) melodic, addictive, catchy pop.

Eight years and a few albums later, Boudlin remains a favorite for Wiretree fans, so much so that Peroni was bombarded with requests for releasing it on vinyl. So, by popular demand, Wiretree has made it so, and they’re celebrating with a special vinyl release party tonight at Lambert’s, 401 W. 2nd St. They’re sharing the bill with garage/country rockers San Saba County. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Recommended.
