Expect the unexpected. It will not be your typical live music gig. Prepare to show off your finest sci-fi themed costumes or “paper sack masks.” Alien Knife Fight wants you to be in their new music video.
AKF, featuring the talents of vocalist/bassist extraordinaire Monique Ortiz and percussionist Mike Howard, have been working a summertime residency at The Carousel Lounge this year. Tomorrow night’s show, however, marks a very special occasion; director and filmmaker Mitch Schultz and his crew will have cameras on hand to capture the revelry and energy of AKF’s performance for their forthcoming music video.
After Ortiz and Howard perform with opener Serpents of the Sea Cut In Three at around 9 p.m., AKF will take over at 10 p.m. Friends and fans are encouraged to wear their very best Space Odyssey, Alien, Barbarella or any science fiction attire, or specially-designed paper sack masks, to be in the video.
It’s a free show, and it’s all tomorrow night at The Carousel Lounge, 1110 E. 52nd St. You know you want to go. Recommended.
