Cazayoux at Arlo Grey

Peruse the credits on the new self-titled LP by Austin-based outfit Cazayoux and you’ll find fourteen musicians – fourteen – pouring all they’ve got into this impressive mix that hits you old school but so damn fresh at the same time. Afrobeat, psych funk, cajun, soul, New Orleans jazz, and rock are just a few of the layers in the foundation the band was built upon. Founded by drummer Forest Cazayoux in 2020, Cazayoux showcases talent from several parts of the world, including West Africa, Mexico and the U.S., and it feels as if every influence comes into play.

The AMM cannot emphasize enough how important it is to experience something like Cazayoux live. You can do so at their show tonight, Tuesday June 13, at Arlo Grey at The Line Austin. The show benefits Free Lunch ATX, working to reduce food insecurity and supporting the health of those experiencing homelessness in the community. Doors at 8 p.m. JaRon Marshall starts out the evening perfectly. And don’t take this one sitting down. You’ve got to move!
