The Austin Music Minute is supported by Howler Brothers, an Austin-based designer of creative outdoor apparel since 2011, and by Planet K, Austin’s local hemp emporium since 1990.
Bringing trans joy and queer mayhem all the way from St. Paul, MN (by way of Austin, mind you) is Creekbed Carter Hogan, carving an expansive, shapeshifting, resilient landscape of queer folk ‘n’ country with an instinctive ear, killer pickin’ and a love of organic collaborations like the kind you’ll find on Creekbed Carter.
Among the Austin legends leaving their mark on this LP: Zack Wiggs (Pelvis Wrestley) on pedal steel, Beth Chrisman on fiddle, Nora Predey and Gabriela Torres (Large Brush Collection) on backing vocals, and Lindsey Verrill and Jeff Johnston (Little Mazarn) contributing layers of magical sonic wonder. Arkansas artist McKain Lakey brings the banjo, and Austin queergrass band Brand New Key plays on today’s AMM featured single, “Apiary”.
Hogan returns to the ATX for a show tomorrow night at Radio East, sharing a bill with Arthur Moss. Doors at 7 p.m.
