¿Estas lista? Money Chicha owns the rhythms this week at C-Boy’s.
Today’s Love Austin Music Month feature digs into some of the baddest Latin psych around, or as Michael Toland recently put it in the Austin Chronicle, the “psychedelicized” ’60s/’70s Peruvian-inspired grooves courtesy of Money Chicha.
Featuring members of Grammy Award-winning outfit Grupo Fantasma and funk band Brownout, Money Chicha presents and electrifying brew of chicha, a blend of Peruvian and Columbian-inspired sounds heavy on reverb and percussion, and heavily influenced by melodies of the indigenous culture of the Andes mountains.
Catch the fire of Money Chicha at their show this Thursday, Feb. 1, at C-Boy’s Heart and Soul, starting at 10 p.m.
