Es un sonido distintivo. Cumbiadélica Festival showcases the many subgenres of cumbia.
Today’s AMM spotlights an incredible event celebrating the rich history of cumbia in all its forms. Cumbiadélica Festival highlights the evolution of cumbia and its many subgenres, from traditional Mexican cumbia to Peruvian Chicha psychedelic sounds, to popular electronic thumping grooves at dance clubs.
It’s a one-day festival happening tomorrow, Saturday April 20, at Hotel Vegas on E. 6th St., with two stages of bands and DJs. Catch performances by El Combo Oscuro (“La Danza de las Sirenas” is featured on today’s AMM), Money Chicha, Volcan, Luna Tropical, Plan Sonidero, Los Hermanos Flores, Grupo Bambinoz, Los Gran Reyes, and The Cumbia Movement. Doors open at 4 p.m., with DJ Manolo Black starting the party, and dance lessons by Cumbia Austin.
